About me
Solianna Halabisky is a second year student at the University of Washington where she is studying ornithology. She was born in New Zealand when her parents Bruce and Tiffany Halabisky were two years into an 11 year circumnavigation on their Atkin cutter, Vixen. When not at university she call Orcas Island and Vixen home.
Father/daughter boatbuilders Bruce and Solianna Halabisky conceived of building La Belle Sauvage, a 11 foot dinghy, when Solianna was 13 years old. Six years later, after having the boat designed for Solianna by Wooden Boat Magazine and scrounging all the materials from an island in the San Juan’s they launched, rowed and sailed this perfect dinghy.
