About me
A lifetime maritime, Leslie Lincoln lived, worked, studied and voyaged her sailboat in support of a Native Canoe Renaissance. Recording oral histories with the elders, documenting fine lines of the representative cedar canoe forms of our bigger coast and as an escort vessel to Bella Bella with elders aboard; Leslie has been immersed in the renewed strength coming forth from what's become the Native TRIBAL JOURNEYS, even so much so that in 2011 our waters have been recognized now as the SALISH SEA. Leslie's early book from 1991 entitled COAST SALISH CANOES was recently republished and has received a warm welcome. She'll share Native canoeing histories and waterborne stories of this resilient and empowering Native movement now known as TRIBAL JOURNEYS.
