About me
Leroy Lewis grew up in Northern Maryland, where he began sailing at age eleven on the Chesapeake Bay and nearby lakes, developing an early fascination with maritime history. After a 39-year career in engineering at Boeing, he returned more fully to that lifelong passion through wooden boats.
He and his wife, Betty, own Arianna, a 1970 Grand Banks Alaskan 46, and have cruised extensively throughout the Pacific Northwest and the Inside Passage, including a 2024 voyage to Alaska. Wooden boat ownership has become both a practical education and a philosophical journey in stewardship, responsibility, and continuity.
