About me
Jeff Eichen was born in California in 1958, and photography found him early. At seventeen, he studied under Ansel Adams at the legendary Yosemite Workshop in 1975, then continued his training with at the University of Oregon in 1976 — In 1979, Jeff ventured to the Netherlands as a teacher's assistant and exchange student, where he taught photography and deepened his understanding of the medium through an entirely new lens. He returned to the Pacific Northwest with a widened perspective and a lifelong devotion to the art form. In 2003, he made Port Townsend, Washington his home — and never looked back. Raised on the water, Jeff has spent decades photographing fair winds, wooden boats, and the luminous world of the sea. He has led numerous workshops at the celebrated Wooden Boat Festival, sharing both his technical knowledge and his reverence for the craft with fellow enthusiasts. Jeff Eichen has dedicated his life to the Fine Art of Photography. "Feel the Light."
